The Barcelona Rum Congress (BRC) is the great annual gathering of the rum and mixology industry.
The Congress is split into 3 main areas: EXHIBITION, EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE. These areas, each with its own ambience and character, bring the BRC to life and transmits its goal effectively.
In this second edition, the BRC’17 aims to spread its spirit by creating an ambience related to the rum industry, cocktails and fine food.

For the first time ever in Spain, the BRC is offering a chance to be part of an international pool of distributors: a space for business and networking for those brands seeking a national distributor to sell their product in the Spanish market.
The Tasting Tunnel is set up to allow professionals and visitors alike to taste a varied selection of international brands while being receiving input from a professional regarding the product and origins. Visitors will be given a catalogue with all the rums in the Tasting Tunnel.

These 20-minute presentations tackle specific subjects inspirationally and in a detailed manner.
There will be two types of Master Classes: one based on techniques: as training for sector professionals; and the other on tastings led by a master mixer who will educate the visitor’s palate using each rum’s tasting notes.
The Barcelona Rum Awards is our very own seal of approval awarded annually to the different rum categories by a select group of international and independent professionals. The BRC Awards defining feature is its drive to become the leading instructional guide and trendsetter for professionals. It is also a recognizable and trusted seal of approval for the general public, aiding in their decision to choose a rum. The BRC wants to share the jury’s choice of “rums of the year,” selected for their unique and differentiating qualities. The prizes will be awarded on 30 October, the first day of the BRC’17.

MIXOLOGY ROOKIE CHALLENGE
The BRC competition is back for a second year in a row and after its initial success in the first edition. The Mixology Rookie Challenge is a chance for young bartenders to show off their stuff and get a real boost to their careers.
